Keeping pace with evolving technologies
IT leaders are struggling to manage workers and customers who demand constant
connections, mobility and flexibility, prefer electronic networking over
in-person contact, and multitask with ease but may not have the same thinking
processes as previous generations.

Are computers transforming humanity?
If primitive hand tools changed us from gatherers to hunters, and the invention
of the printing press propagated literacy while downgrading the importance of
the oral tradition, what individual and cultural transformations do new computer
technologies portend?

Keep Your Files in the Cloud with ZumoDrive
Not enough space on your iPhone for all your music? Need more storage for your
tiny netbook hard drive? ZumoDrive promises to solve conundrums like these by
keeping your files in the cloud but making them accessible in real-time, just as
though they were local. Inother words, it's a virtual hard drive that lives
online.

First look: Wolfram|Alpha, a new type of search engine, challenges Google
Wolfram|Alpha, the brainchild of a company with a distinctly scientific bent, is
challenging Google by offering a formatted aggregation of data rather than lists
of sites.

Why Google's Outage Wasn't a Complete Failure
I noticed something interesting in the Google outage and its aftermath on
Thursday. Google's sites, in case you were hiding in a cave yesterday, were
unreachable around the world for a good hour and a half. Gmail, YouTube, Google
News, even the google.com home page were inaccessible to scores of people.

SHARK BAIT OF THE DAY

What the heck!?
I was called to one of our remote sites the other day because the computer had
entered into one of those windows endless reboot cycles. You know the one: it
starts up, shows the windows logo and the loading bar, then quickly blue screens
and reboots to do it all over again ...
