Apple updates iPhone 3.0 beta software
Updated iPhone 3.0 beta software shipped to developers late Tuesday and included
in the code was a pre-release of the next version of iTunes (8.2). Clues buried
in the new iTunes pre-release software suggest that Apple's media player will

Eight Reasons Your Next Computer Should Be a Mac
Contrary to Microsoft marketing honcho David Webster's snarky recent assertion,
Macs aren't "washed with unicorn tears" -- at least as far as I know. However,
lots of extremely rational reasons exist to choose a Mac running OS X over a
Windows PC. Macs can leave you happier and more productive than you would have
been if you'd bought a Windows system, and feeling you got good value for your
money even though a Mac is never the cheapest option.

Seth H. Weintraub: Nokia N810 Tablet, now $220 with Google Android
Although that little Android Netbook I pointed out to you last week will be the
first netbook-type device to have Android running on it, you can get a better
device, cheaper right now. For $220 (on sale at Amazon) you can get the Nokia
N810. With a little effort, you can run Android on it.

Seth H. Weintraub: Is Intel trying to squash Linux netbooks?
OK, that title might be a little misleading. Intel has a long history of
supporting Linux and makes plenty of money selling hardware that Linux runs on.
But strangely today in my Intel Enterprise Scoop Twitter feed I got the
following Twit:

Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols: Are there too many desktop Linuxes?
Debian, Fedora, MEPIS, Mint, openSUSE, Ubuntu, Xandros, the list of desktop
Linuxes goes on and on, and maybe that's one of its biggest problems.

Desktop Linux: Why it may have lost its chance

Opinion: Why desktop Linux may have lost its chance
After 18 years, Linux is still struggling to gain a foothold on the business
desktop. Could it be too late?
