DISCUSSIONS:

Is CrossFireX Necessary for World of Warcraft
I am currently running one HD3870.  WoW performance is good for the most part but could be better.  I have recently started running WoW in a windows mode so that I can have dual screens and use the secondary screen for strategy look-ups and other very general things. I have lost frame rates in the windows mode which is not normally noticeable unless there are heavy spell effects going on or a high population area.

I guess what I am asking is: If I get a mobo with two PCIx16 slots and continue to run WoW on my main screen while running the internet and support apps on the other screen, will I notice a performance difference by going from a single HD3870 to dual HD3870's under CrossFire?  Is it possible that the performance will be worse rather than better?   Is there any valid reason to consider three graphics cards?   Thank you for your time.  Read this story

Me and My Echo
Can I tweak, jimmy-hack, or reconfigure my Echo Indigo sound card to sound better than it does now? But I don't know if I'm getting to use all of its potential. Is there any way to reconfigure, hack, or tweak this card for my laptop? I mean I thought, from all the good reviews I read, that I'd have the epitome of a good, strong bassy soundcard, but the sound I get is actually weaker than the DFX plug-in I installed months after--at one quarter of the price!

How do I use all this card's features to their fullest extent? I mean, I listen to a lot of Lounge, downtempo, and drum/bass on my XP, so maybe I'm expecting too much, from this laptop card.  So, please if there's a way to use this card to full capacity, either by adjusting something on the card or my laptop, let me know! Thanks.   Read this story
