DISCUSSIONS:

Is PC Gaming Dead?
My OC'd machine just hit two years old, and being an enthusiast builder it's overdue for an upgrade.  But then I got to think…what am I going to play with it?  Crysis?  COD, WaW?

I realized that the current line of PC FPS's suck ass, and I have no interest in playing any of them.  The only game that holds any interest is Warhammer Online and even that's a whole lot of aggravation due to population mismanagement by the devs.

Are there any good games out there for PC's?  Seems like the developers are only writing for consoles now.  Please no flames here just positive replies.

New Build, Troubleshooting Questions
O.K so I have assembled the system, and everything is hooked up except the speakers, and the wireless adapter. The Boot-up was fine, no initial problems. The SATA drives are hooked up as such: (SATA 3 - DVD+-RW / SATA 4 - HD 640 Gb) .  The system boots, and will start to load Windows Vista CD. The Install went great the first time until it got to expanding files. The setup then came up with an error (I believe the message was 0xC0000008). The install goes back to the initial screen. Same thing each time.

After several hours fiddling, I could not get anything working. I am going to try booting from USB (by copying DVD to a flash drive, and then booting from USB, any tips on this as well?). In the mean time, anyone know what might be causing this?  Read this story

Thermal Adhesive Has Screwed Me
I recently built my brother a computer and I ordered what I thought was thermal paste off Newegg. Instead, it was thermal adhesive. Now, people are saying that if I try to remove the heatsink, I will pull my CPU right out of the socket! Any suggestions on how to get this stuff off without spending money or breaking anything?  Read this story
